*Sparkleforce is a rainbow business and we welcome and include all gender identities
Has been carrying responsibility for a long time
Understands that pleasure is part of regulation, not indulgence
Is curious about what settling in her body might feel like
Wants space where she* does not have to perform
High alert feels familiar
Feels competent on the outside but stretched on the inside
Confidence is not a personality trait.
It is a regulated state.
When the nervous system is under prolonged strain, the body stays on alert. Breath shortens. Muscles tighten. Even joy can feel effortful.
When the parasympathetic system comes online, the opposite begins to happen.
Breath deepens.
Muscles soften.
Perception widens.
Presence steadies.
That is where coherence starts.
Inside 101 – Get Your Sexy Back
The glow people notice?
That is what happens when the nervous system settles
That's what we do here. 💋✨
Women* often report:
• Clearer boundaries
• A steadier voice
• Greater ease in being seen
• A widening window of tolerance
• Feeling more like themselves, without forcing it
Then something steadier appears.
You notice your shoulders drop.
Your breath slows.
Reactivity eases.
The first changes are subtle.
What Shifts Over Eight Weeks
I'm the founder of Sparkleforce.
I have spent over a decade performing and teaching burlesque across Aotearoa and internationally.
But the work I teach here is not about performance.
It is about what happens in the body when it no longer needs to stay on high alert.
Burlesque was one of the spaces where I learned how to regulate, soften, and stay present.
The Glam Lab brings those tools into a structured, supported environment.

Your guide in The Glam Lab
But the work I teach here isn’t about performance. It’s about what becomes possible when your body no longer needs to stay on high alert.
Burlesque gave me a way to begin regulating my nervous system, softening and staying present. The Glam Lab brings those same principles into a structured and supported space.
This work is shaped by: lived experience, formal study in neuroscience,
years of teaching and guiding others.
You are not here to become someone new.
You are creating the conditions where your system can begin to settle.
I’ve performed, taught and contributed to the global burlesque community, including working with organisations such as BurlyCon and the Burlesque Hall of Fame.

Crystal Mischief after winning Golden Legend Champion Challenge Golden Stripper
During the course, something shifted.
She walked into the women’s section on her own and chose something for herself.
That is what this work can look like.
Not just on a stage.
In small, everyday moments where your body feels safe enough to stay.
When TK first came to Sparkleforce, being seen felt uncomfortable.
She moved through 101 at her own pace.
Not to perform.
Just to begin feeling safer in her body.
At the end of the course, she chose to perform a burlesque routine for her 50th birthday.
Not because she had to.
Because she wanted to.
Afterwards, she shared something that stayed with me.
For years, she avoided buying underwear for herself.
It didn’t feel comfortable to be in that space.
Noticing when the body contracts
Practising softening without forcing
Exploring sensation at a pace that feels safe
Rebuilding a sense of connection between body and brain
There is no requirement to be bold.
No expectation to be confident.
Crystal before they started burlesque and after
Burlesque has a long history of playful expression and embodied presence. Inside Glam Lab, we use it differently. Not as performance, but as practice.
A way of moving, noticing and gently returning to the body. A way of exploring sensation without pressure. A way of being seen without needing to perform.
The Glam Lab is home to a progression of burlesque courses. Each one builds on the last. But we begin with the foundation. Because this work is not about rushing forward.
It is about building capacity.
Just as you would not enter a lab and begin mixing compounds without understanding the basics, we begin by working with the nervous system and the body.
That is where coherence starts.
For those who choose to continue:
Burlesque 201
A deeper exploration of movement, storytelling, and presence
Burlesque 301
For those who wish to perform or share their work more publicly
There is no pressure to move forward. The foundation is the work.
